Snarky's Machine
They frigging hate James Cameron. And now he knows just how much. They hate him so much they voted for a woman.
-
snarkysmachine
Which is how Cameron justifies this crushing defeat to himself.
-
hsofia
why do they hate him?
-
snarkysmachine
Because he’s a bit of a pompous assclown.
-
hsofia
oh THAT. heh.
-
-
-
Anna
i so noticed that too. creepy!
-
Anna
oops this was supposed to go to the whole grabbing k-big’s arm post!!
-
-
stitchtowhere
cameron’s next film: “my oscar defeat… allow me to mansplain.”
-
thirtiesgirl
Heh. I love it.
-
-
Snarky's Machine
Snarky 6/6
Booyah.
-
drst
WOOOOOO FUCKING HOO!
-
moosemuse
You’re a witch! A witch, I say!
-
jamy
YES.
-
Kara
I’m just glad Avatar lost because it just wasn’t a good movie.
-
Tink
Brava, well done.
-
Krishji
You are awesome! A psychic!
-
riotsnotdiets
obviously oscar voters must have gotten a hold of your post and changed their votes accordingly… SP domination!
-
-
Snarky's Machine
God, Tom Hanks or Tom Cruise always does the damn best picture.
-
redlami
Well done, Snarky… 6/6
-
Kate Harding
K-BIG again!
-
thirtiesgirl
Ok, THIS makes me happy. This makes sitting through this whole damn awards show worthwhile.
-
-
hsofia
Wow, nice job, Snarkysmachine.
And also, he came out and was like, “Look, the winner is The Hurt Locker. Bye.” -
elfboots
And James Cameron is disappointed. And possibly disapproving.
-
Kate Harding
But what does Clooney think?
-
littlem
Personally I don’t think George was thinking at all. Did anyone ever find out what was in that flask?
-
-
-
hsofia
Is that bearded guy the lost son of John Lennon?
-
thirtiesgirl
And why did he have that grabby hold on Ms. Big’s arm? That was kind of disturbing.
-
Kate Harding
I was just about to type LET GO OF HER ARM when he finally did.
-
Quiwi
I noticed that too! Major WTF right there, let her go!
-
thirtiesgirl
It was like he was holding her away from the mic and then pulling her to it when he was done and ready for her to speak. Or am I just imagining things?
-
-
Suezette
I don’t know, seemed like she was having a hard time breathing–maybe he was helping??
-
-
-
-
Snarky's Machine
K-BIG
-
snarkysmachine
Snarky 5/6
-
Kate Harding
I am praying you’re 6/6, and that this doesn’t mean Avatar’s getting best pic now.
-
-
Kara
Yay I was rooting for her.
-
Paula
FUCK YEAH!!!! Let’s ask James Cameron how HE feels about her winning.
-
Suezette
he was cheering–good for him
-
Paula
I just meant that there was soooo much bullshit about there being some big competition between them and KB always being asked about him even though they’ve been divorced a million years.
-
-
-
thirtiesgirl
I’m so glad Ms. Bigs won… but that can only mean Cameron’s taking best picture. She’s trumping her evil ex-hubs…only sort of.
-
snarkysmachine
doubtful, given there’s instant run off voting.
-
Kate Harding
Right, I forgot about that. And that is why you’re the smart one who went 6 for 6. Nice work!
-
-
-
Thornacious
And JamCam stood up right away – thank you, Scary Scary-Looking Man for doing your part to quell all the stupid “grudge match” gossip.
-
moosemuse
Too bad he has to turn in his balls now, though.
Wait, that’s *not* how it works?
-
-
drst
Yay and finally! Now the question is, will the film win best?
-
Kara
OMFG are they really playing “I am woman hear me roar?”
-
moosemuse
::jaw drop::
-
Paula
The music director needs to be beaten bloody.
-
-
-
Snarky's Machine
we know who’s winning the next award.
-
stitchtowhere
babs for craziest neck ornamentation at an awards ceremony.
-
Suezette
that is a bad outfit
-
stitchtowhere
is that ship’s rigging? spangly nautical knots? (stealth tribute to don knotts?)
-
-
-
Kate Harding
There will be rioting if we’re wrong.
-
drst
The chick, right? Cause that’s the only reason to have a chick presenting!
-
hsofia
I don’t …. I am so clueless. Well I’m going to guess the Hurt Locker director. Bigelow.
-
Kate Harding
Bigelow was Snarky’s pick, and widely favored. http://kateharding.net/2010/02/26/strange-days/
-
-
hsofia
It’s sort of like Obama vs Clinton all over again. But shorter.
-
moosemuse
Yeah, that was painful.
-
-
Kate Harding
And it’s her!
-
-
Snarky's Machine
Snarky 4/6 tonight.
-
Kate Harding
Nice!
-
snarkysmachine
I hate being right, though.
-
-
hsofia
Ok that’s what it seemed to be to me; I’ve been so confused by all the love for it. And from people I thought should know better!
-
-
Kate Harding
Sandra Bullock. No surprise, but still. Drat.
-
Kate Harding
OK, her opening line was funny.
-
Kate Harding
And now she’s being classy and shit.
-
Elysia
Some small consolation, I guess. Still disappointed.
-
stitchtowhere
yes on both counts. her opener was endearing and acknowledging the other actors is admirable.
-
-
Suezette
whole speech has been good
-
-
elfboots
Seriously?? What a crock.
-
drst
Aw but she shouts out to Gabby right off the bat plus all the others. That was classy.
-
moosemuse
I think she knows she doesn’t deserve it. And for that alone I continue to love her (despite her shitty movie choices).
-
elfboots
Oh, I like *her*, I just think she’s vastly outclassed in this category, that’s all.
-
-
thirtiesgirl
I’m disappointed.
-
Quiwi
I know, I like Sandra, but my heart still sank.
-
-
Kate Harding
And now there’s crying!
-
hsofia
I haven’t seen this movie, so I have to ask if she was any good? And was the movie? The movie commercials just looked so hokey to me.
-
Kate Harding
Put it this way: As Jill from Feministe just said on Twitter, “Sandra Bullock seems like a very nice lady. However. I am tired of White Lady Saves the Day, The Movie. “
-
hsofia
That’s what I thought, but I’d been so confused by all the love for it from people I thought ought to know better.
-
AmpleCurves
I saw it expecting it to be White Lady Saves the Day, but it was actually a lot better than I was expecting. And Sandra Bullock legit did a good job, which is not to say she deserves to beat out these other actresses, but still….
-
-
-
-
Paula
I’m pissed off. Sandra Bullock is nice enough but what kinda stretch is it for an actress to play the rich white woman who saves the poor black kid?
-
snarkysmachine
seriously. She seemed geniune. She’s not *that* great an actress.
-
-
riotsnotdiets
I was disappointed, but that speech was just super classy and kinda made me cry… and I refuse to see this movie (white woman as savior is played the f out)… also, when she started saying “there is no color, no creed, no sexual orientation,” etc., I totally thought she was going to go all “colorblind” on us, but then she didn’t (finishing with “more deserving” or whatever it was that she said). So, that wasn’t as bad as I thought it was gonna be.

Kara
wait, what is Sean Penn talking bout?
-
Emgee'
ok, is it me or is Sean Penn loaded?
-
hsofia
He is always like that. I think he is either always loaded or just not a good public speaker.
