      The Prophet better win.

    • redlami 4:16 am on March 8, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Yeah. Because there are only five non-American films worth noticing.

        Avatar wasn’t nominated?

Yeah, what about the Na’avi speakers?

Ok I’m not even drinking and this is incredibly funny to me.

Na’avi and Klingon apparently don’t count.

OMG I had a student in one of my film classes INSISTING to me that “Lord of the Rings” was a foreign film because it was shot in New Zealand.

            Isn’t it foreign language film?

Not to tell tales out of school, but my ex-b/f knows Jeremy Renner since they grew up in the same small town together. Whenever one of Renner’s movies is premiering there, Renner goes to hang out with his family and sometimes shows up at the theater. The ex said he did it for The Hurt Locker, was doing the whole shaking fans’ hands thing, etc, and was drunk as a skunk the whole time.

    See, Tyler Perry isn’t funny.

    • Kara 4:07 am on March 8, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Why do they keep explaining the various jobs of the categories. If we don’t know what an editor or a screenwriter is by now, we’re not going to learn from Tyler Perry!

Even the brief snuggie appearance was funnier.

Oh, it’s a bad night when I shout “NOT AVATAR!” before they announce the winner in just about every category…

      Props for Sam Raimi!

    • drst 4:08 am on March 8, 2010 Permalink | Reply

I’ll give him the “I wasn’t the guy in Blind Side” quip though. In the “funny in a painful way” category.

      • hsofia 4:22 am on March 8, 2010 Permalink | Reply

        I laughed at that one.

    • elfboots 4:12 am on March 8, 2010 Permalink | Reply

At least he seemed aware of and embarrassed by it. Steve & Alec, please take note.

The Cove takes it. Apparently, this is not about Cabot Cove. Okay, I was wondering why Fisher Stevens was there and not off shooting an episode of “Law & Order” playing a smarmy defense attorney.

“Avatar’s a film about learning to see the world in new ways.”

      Snort.

      • stitchtowhere 3:58 am on March 8, 2010 Permalink | Reply

was that comment about “this world being just as good as the one we created for you [in avatar]” a nod to the na’avi blues?
